Our 2008/09 Season: Mothers, Sons and Families - three diverse and entertaining offerings!

October 16 – 25, 2008
Lost in Yonkers
By Neil Simon
Directed by Joanne Norman
In the summer of 1942, two young boys are sent to stay with their stern grandmother Kurnitz in Yonkers. The boys must then adjust to life with, not only their grandmother, but with their child-like aunt Bella and uncle Louie, who may or may not have mob connections.
“One of Simon’s most impressive and funniest plays.” N. Y. Daily News
“The best play Simon ever wrote.” N.Y. Post
October 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25 at 8:00 pm
October 18 and 25 at 2:00 pm
Lost in Yonkers is produced with special permission from Samuel French Inc.

February 19 – 28
Peter Pan
By J.M. Barrie
Directed by Carey Nicholson
“Who was Peter Pan? No one really knows. Perhaps he was just somebody’s boy who was never born.” J.M. Barrie
The classic tale of the boy who never grows up. After writing Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie bequeathed the play’s royalties to the Great Ormond St. Children’s Hospital in London, England. In 2007, the 70th year of Barrie’s death, Peter Pan moved into public domain and royalties are no longer required to be paid. However, the Borelians are continuing the tradition of Barrie’s generous gift by donating a percentage of ticket sales from this production to the Great Ormond St. Hospital and also to our own New Life Centre at Lakeridge Health in Port Perry.
February 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 at 8:00 pm
February 21 and 28 at 2:00 pm

Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun
By Norm Foster
Directed by Vivian Lee
Robert is 35, sociable, has a good job and loves his mother. Holly is luckless, penniless and jobless. Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun is a heart-warming story which, as in real life, is a constant tug of war between humour and tragedy, as a pregnant young woman and a disabled man meet at a bus stop, begin a friendship and find their lives changed forever.
